Weekly Review: Mannies Incorporated by Sean Michael

Mannies IncorporatedMannies Incorporated by Sean Michael
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay, I'm a really big Sean Michael fan. I have quite a few of his Hammer series, as well as The Velvet Glove stories. There's a whole other side of his writing that's more mainstream, but equally as great. I love the stories involving ordinary men, children, and the average every world where things go wrong ... and then sometimes right.

Mannies Incorporated is a great story about two guys trying to raise two kids. Nope, no tragic family death leaving the uncle in charge ... in this case Mindy is in the military and she has to leave, so she has trusted her long-time many, Slayde. Her brother isn't quite on the same page, so he takes time off from being a cop to become an attentive uncle for the first time. Of course, Drake has zip idea of how to take care of any kids, much less Mindy's.

From the beginning, Drake and Slayde have chemistry... even when Slayde is refusing to let Drake in the house. Throughout the story things change, through ups and downs, temper tantrums, mistakes, happy moments where the heart swells. That's the life of any parent, and as one, I could really relate.

But what happens when things are about to change? What are Slayde and Drake going to do when the balance they found is thrown out of wack? Are they both on the same page? Will things work out?

Well, you'll just have to read this to find out!
